Abstract:

Preaching magazine is a bi-monthly periodical designed to encourage and enhance the ministry of those called to preach the Word. As a professional journal, Preaching is written almost entirely by those who share a calling to the ministry of preaching. Each issue contains practical feature articles which offer useful insights to strengthen your preaching. Every issue contains a selection of model sermons which reflect the best of preaching across the United States and beyond. And Preaching also provides a helpful group of homiletical resources to help the preaching minister, including "From the Lectionary" (a series of sermon briefs based on texts from the New Common Lectionary), "To Illustrate," "The Preachers Bookshelf," "Childrens Sermons," and more. This magazine is not a sermon service or a homiletical crutch. It is a valuable professional resource for those pastors and others who take preaching seriously as a vital part of their own work. Readers soon find that it is one of the most practical tools they have in their work of crafting a stronger preaching ministry. Founded in 1985, Preaching is published independently of any denomination, although it is rooted in solid evangelical convictions and a commitment to the role of preaching as the proclamation of Gods Word.
